Formal LeBootCamp Study
 

From September 2009 to February 2010, a study was conducted to evaluate the results of 800 women who followed LeBootCamp for 6 months.
 
The sample was divided into two groups of 400 people: Group 1 for a cholesterol study and Group 2 for a glyecmia control study.
 
After 1 month on the LeBootCamp program, the average weight loss for both groups – besides for improvements in glycemia control and cholesterol levels – was 13 lbs.
 
 

Scientific Proof

I'd like to speak about protein diets, diets without meat, cabbage soup diets, diets based on eggs (the “Mayo Clinic Diet” which is a fairly appropriate name, although nothing to do with the famous Mayo Clinic establishment), diets based on powdered drinks, the “blood-type” diet, and other such myths and fads.

I use the word myths because thanks to my team of researchers based here in San Francisco, I have had the luxury of re-examining all the studies mentioned by diet manufacturers. In order for a concept to truly capture my attention, it has to be proven by at least 5 double-blind medical studies on a representative sample (a sample of 5 people is not valid!), and according to serious and verifiable protocol.

For example, if you look at the Blood Type Diet, all the studies which prove that this diet works, were financed or led by the creator of the diet himself. Now that is not acceptable :).

Because we are willing to lose weight at all costs, diet gurus and diet product manufacturers are always working on new ways to attract us. Consider me your diet police :)

Then again, why me? Simply because I am not biased and I am able to revise my judgment as soon as sufficient studies bring new research, or prove a new method. Working with reputable doctors, famous athletes, researchers, and recognized coaches, ensures that I cannot make a mistake without being informed of it!

The Glycemic Index

We hear about GI all the time.
The popularization of the glycemic index for weight loss purposes originates in Australia. The University of Sydney was the first to publish very thorough work showing that foods with a high glycemic index may have a negative impact on weight loss.

Many studies have confirmed the concept of the Glycemic Index, and we have integrated these studies in our meal plans. We also explain how to apply the guiding principles of the Glycemic Index (described in detail in my program), so that you can adapt this concept to your everyday life. Any information concerning the GI of foods which we suggest is primarily based on research done by the University of Sydney.

Cortisol

Stress causes weight gain. The adrenal glands secrete cortisol in response to high stress, and a high cortisol level has been linked to weight gain, specifically around the abdomen. An increase in cortisol may also be caused by other factors, such as sleep deprivation. These facts have already been proven and we therefore integrate stress management in our weight loss program so that you can, without becoming an ascetic yogi, naturally reduce the level of stress which causes you to gain weight.

Acid-Basic Balance

A term referring to body pH; the level of body pH needs to be close to the pH of water.

A body that is overly acidic causes you to feel tired, prevents you from losing weight, and can even cause you to gain weight!
Stress, lack of exercise, certain rich foods, too much meat, etc. - all these contribute to a negatively imbalanced pH. With simple explanations, and even a small questionnaire, together we will learn how to restore the pH of your body, and how to be able to eat almost anything, without deprivation.

 

Detoxification

We see the word “detox” everywhere these days. A diet fad, or something serious? Both. Although it is necessary to pay attention to the dangerous and miraculous promises of certain diet gurus, it should be known that the concept of body detoxification has been around for hundreds of years and is a founding principle of Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines.

Where do toxins come from? Food, pesticides, various additives, stress, alcohol, pollution, etc. The body can eliminate some toxins, but not all.

Certain doctors, who follow an old school of thought, refuse to accept the fact that the body can become toxic. They affirm that the body naturally eliminates all toxins, without concern, since this is the function of certain organs such as the kidneys or intestines. This is, quite simply, false. If one examines the liver of an alcoholic, or the lungs of a smoker, one is forced to admit that the body has its limits with regard to the elimination of toxins.

Based on research by my team of scientists, as well as studies published by the American Journal of Medicine, the Russian American Medical Association, and the American Cancer Society, I have drawn up a protocol for detoxification which you can follow on your own, without having to spend a fortune in a spa. Moreover, all the meal plans integrate foods with low toxic capacities, or better, foods known for their detoxifying properties.

The advantage of a detoxified body is that it becomes easier to lose weight. A toxic body makes you lethargic, and incapable of moving around and exercising. A clean body is a tonic body. The kilos melt away more quickly. Scientifically proven!

Obesity is contagious, and thinness, too

We suspected it, and recent studies have proven it: obesity and thinness are socially contagious.

James Fowler of the University of California in San Diego is the joint author of the latest study on this subject. He publishes interesting figures which emphasize already known concepts, such as: is your friend obese? You have 57% of a chance of becoming obese in one year. If your spouse is obese: 37%. In the case of a very strong friendship, you can triple these figures.

The latest developments in the world of exercise

Sport - Weight Loss - Health - The 25th hour

We've discussed food and motivation; two of the pillars of this coaching program. The third pillar is exercise. We will help you get your dream body and get thinner quickly, without sweating for hours a day at the gym. We will share with you the tips and tricks which make it possible to do exercise at your own pace, and show you how to integrate these into your busy schedule. We use proven, reliable methods such as isometry (based on recent work by NASA), Fartlek, aerobic exercise, and work in isotonicity and pliometry.

Lastly, we work with the concept of cardiac coherence, developed in the USA by Dr. Alan Watkins at the HeartMath Institute, to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and lower blood pressure. There's no miracle solution, but together with a variety of other techniques, you will see impressive results. The names of these exercise techniques may sound complicated, but I guarantee you that performing them is far easier than reading :)

I have seen weight loss programs which promise you the moon, while wanting to make you believe that you can obtain your dream body without moving at all, even worse, while being hypnotized. Now, if hypnosis could make my glutes firm, I would be charmed!
